Alex took me up my second multi-pitch route after 15 years away from climbing. He chose the route Steort’s Ridge, a three pitch rated 5.6 in Big Cottonwood Canyon. He led and then safely belayed me as I got a warm up cleaning the gear he had put in the rock for protection. It was a great refresher for me to and I feel confident for the next time I’m out climbing. Alex is super sweet and helpful, he showed me new techniques and a bunch of little tricks and I would love to climb with him again sometime!

See you soon Alex!

065We look forward to skiing with Alex every year and have been skiing with Alex for the last 10 years.  It’s just natural for Alex to take us on the best secret spots the mountain has to offer on a particular day and to help us improve our skiing.  Alex is a phenomenal coach and it makes all the difference being able to watch him demonstrate flawless technique: he is always the best skier on the mountain!  It’s always a great day when we are with Alex for skiing, biking or climbing.  Every time we like to say it was “The best day ever – again”!!!

172Over the past 7 years, Alex has taken me from being an intermediate blue skier afraid of bumps, black diamonds, and trees to a skier who can now enjoy all of those runs at any ski resort. Alex is part of our family during our ski vacation. I can’t imagine going out to Utah and not having Alex ski with us… I have skied terrain that without Alex, I would never have the confidence to ski on, and every year I keep making big gains in my skill level. One of the highlights of my family’s ski vacation on a particularly warm Spring day is when Alex took us rock climbing, it was a total blast!!!

IMG_7794I went skiing with Alex in the Little Cottonwood Canyon backcountry this winter. From the very start, the experience was magic: seamless planning and organization led to a fantastic ski tour up to the Pfeifferhorn, which felt both safe while being very challenging for me. Alex hooked me up with the best gear available since I don’t have my own ski touring set-up. Through the whole day, Alex displayed his advanced mountain knowledge, sharing with me his observations on weather, snow safety and making adjustments to our planned route as conditions changed while keeping me in the loop. Finally, I cannot tell you how impressed I was when I saw Alex ski hundreds of turns seamlessly without missing a single one. He coached me on my skiing skills through our epic descent and I can honestly say that in this single long descent I learned more than during many ski-week programs I’ve paid for in the past… He took amazing pictures of the whole day and that’s certainly a bonus. Last but not least, if you are lucky, you might get to taste a bottle of Alex’s beer as he has won several home-brewing awards! I look forward to my next day in the mountains with Superior Mountain Adventures and I highly recommend Alex for your next trip in the Wasatch!
